Tracey Stephenson
“Director”
Tracey Stephenson is the Minister of Music at New Life Fellowship Worship Center on Old Court Road. Theatrical credits include a starring role in the biblically-based stage play romantic comedy FOR BETTER OR WOR$E as “Theresa”, and a leading role in the biblically-based comedy stage play Widows In The Hood as “Widow Three”. She is the daughter of New Life Fellowship Worship Center Founders and Pastors, Revs. Edward and Helen Ferguson. While Tracy is making her directing debut on the gospel comedy stage play scene, with her main focus having been on singing and choir directing, her directorship of a major theatrical piece is also a natural fit. Tracey is also a Minister, Soloist and Musician. Her husband Brian is also in this production. The Baltimore native and entrepreneur is also a Praise and Worship Leader at New Life Fellowship Worship Center, a member of the New Life Drama Ministry, and has performed with numerous recording artists.
Claudette Bradford
“Casting Director”
Claudette Bradford directed the gospel stage play production Reap What You Sow. She received her education at Catonsville Community College, and is employed with the Baltimore County Public School System, working with children with special needs. Claudette says she gives praise to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for the wonderful blessings that have filled her life, and describes herself as “a holy anointed woman of God who believes in the power of prayer”. She is married to Leroy Bradford and has two children, Yulanda and Bryan. Claudette is a member of the New Life Fellowship Worship Center under the leadership of Revs. Edward and Helen Ferguson. She serves as Deaconess, and President of the Women’s Fellowship.
Minister Carol Williams
“Assistant Director”
Minister Carol Williams served as Assistant Director for the stage play romantic, spiritually-based comedy stage play comedy, FOR BETTER OR WOR$E, which was performed at Martin’s West in 2007, and Artscape 2007. She also served as Assistant Director for the biblically-based stage play comedy Widows In The Hood. Minister Williams also had a leading role in the production, portraying “Widow One”. She attends New Life Fellowship Worship Center on Old Court Road, where she is an Associate Minister. Minister Williams is the daughter of the church’s Founders and Pastors, Revs. Edward and Helen Ferguson and is one of Director Stephenson’s sisters. The Baltimore native and entrepreneur, is a member of the New Life Drama Ministry, sings on the church’s choir, works with the Youth Ministry, and has also performed in other plays performed by her church.

Kim B. Chase
“Rev. Right Just, Jr.”
Kim B. Chase is a broadcaster, drummer, percussionist, tap dancer and ministry teacher in the Baltimore area. Kim is no stranger to the stage in Baltimore. He has performed in tap dance numbers at the Lyric and Dundalk Community College. Acting credits include the reality show Redeemed, which was produced and directed Dr. Jean E. Donnell, and The Best View Ministry, a paraministry of River of Life Christian Center. Over the past four years, Kim has performed with The Joe Jones Ministries in their series of plays about the church: Ecclesia (Robert), Epistle (Ruben Stutter) and Examplez (Kim). Kim loves the performing arts. He has had the pleasure of studying tap dance at Experimental Movement Concepts in Baltimore. Kim is married to Karen Chase, who is also in this production. He attends the River of Life Christian Center, where Apostle Bennett Donnell and Prophetess Jean Donnell serve as Pastors.
Talven Pearsell
“Rev. Leroy Locke”
Talven Pearsell is making his theatrical debut in DisChord In The Choir. He received his undergraduate degree from Morgan State University and graduate degree from Towson University. He is a math teacher in the Baltimore County Public School System. Talven is a member of Gentlemen of Quality, Incorporated as well as Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated. His favorite hobbies include: spending time with his three favorite ladies (wife, mother, and mother-in-law), playing sports, and mentoring youth. Talven, who says that God is first in his life, is a member of New Hope Way of the Cross Church in New Jersey.

Diane Andrews
“Choir Member”
Diane Andrews attends The Kinsler Academy of Music, Inc. and sings with the Missionary Convention Choir. Diane worked with the Black Historical Traveling Tourist Company, portraying “Juanita Mitchell” in a look-a-like parade. Diane is a retired private school and daycare teacher. Diane’s sons Timothy and Robert are also in this production. Diane is continuing her education in Evangelism & Music, and attends New Hope Baptist Church on Fremont Avenue, where the Rev. Dr. James Fuller serves as Pastor. She serves as a Missionary, Teacher, Youth Advisor, and lead soloist at the church.
Tim Bell
“Choir Member”
Tim Bell says his musical talents, which include singing and playing the drums, stem from his great aunt and Gospel great, Shirley Caesar. He started his life of musicianship at age nine at Canaan Baptist Church, and since that time, has played at churches throughout Baltimore. He has also played with the likes of Twinkie Clark, Kim Burrell, BeBe Winans, and James Hall. He loves entertainment, particularly being on stage and in front of the camera. Tim says he found an escape from the hardships he faced as a child through his love and passion for entertainment. Theatrical credits include Where Have All The Good Men Gone and The Preacher’s Kid. Tim is also an aspiring comedian who says he has been compared to the likes of Cedric the Entertainer, Martin Lawrence, and Jamie Foxx.
William R. Brown
“Dr. Raymond Jennings”
William R. Brown started exercising his theatrical talents at a young age. In addition to his love for the arts, William is also a model and poet. He has utilized his writings in both ministry and Spoken Word. William renewed his love for the theatre when he appeared in FOR BETTER OR WOR$E as “Fornicatin’ Fred”. Other credits include Christmas at Mommy’s House. He also played an important role behind the scenes in The Teachers’ Lounge. William also mentors young adults. He dedicates his performances to his twin sister Tracy Harris and theatrical mentor Robert Lee. William attends New Harvest Deliverance Church on Park Avenue where the Rev. Sidney Briley is Pastor.
Mary E. Dixon
“Sister Sovereign”
Mary E. Dixon loves singing and has been singing since the age of five. Mary comes from a large family of singers. In high school, she was a member of the Drama Club. She has led many choirs in song, and has sung with several groups which include “Spirit & Truth”, and “Family and Friends”. Mary has released two CDs, “Meet Mary Dixon” and “Pat Jones with Family and Friends.” She also sings the praises of God as a member of the street ministry Yahweh Ministries under the leadership of Michael Williams, and also performs in concerts, hospitals, and nursing homes. Mary is a daycare provider and certified medical assistant. She attends Berea Temple Seventh Day Adventist Church on Madison Avenue where the Rev. Jimmy Ferguson serves as Pastor.
Laquetta J. Fancher
“Choir Member”
Laquetta J. Fancher is making her debut in DisChord In The Choir. The soprano, whose voice she says has been described by others as “standing out from the crowd”, has sung in many area churches. Laquetta is a Medical/Office Assistant at Johns Hopkins Hospital. She is a mother and wife who says she loves to spend time with her family. Laquetta attends New Life Fellowship Worship Center where the Revs. Edward and Helen Ferguson serve as Pastors.
Helen Ferguson
“Choir Member”
Helen Ferguson loves to praise God through Praise and Worship. She also enjoys performing in church productions. Theatrical credits include portraying “Constance Communication” in the biblically-based stage play romantic comedy FOR BETTER OR WOR$E and narrating the biblically-based comedy stage play Widows In The Hood. Helen is the mother of Directors Stephenson and Williams. She, along with her husband Rev. Edward Ferguson, own and operate a transportation company, E&H Charter, along with other businesses. Helen is the First Lady of New Life Fellowship Worship Center on Old Court Road, where Rev. Ferguson serves as Pastor. She and Rev. Ferguson founded the church in 1996. Helen who is also a Minister, sings on the church’s choir, is a member of the Praise and Worship Team, a member of the Drama Ministry, a Sunday School teacher, and also teaches the New Members classes.
Rose Mary Backus Davis-Hamm
“Sister Violetta Jenkins”
Rose Mary Backus Davis-Hamm is a familiar face on the Baltimore educational scene, but she is also a recognizable figure in the city’s theatrical circles. Her theatrical credits include The Teachers’ Lounge (Jennifer Johnson) Scrooge, Romeo and Juliet, and God’s Trombones Jump & Shout!” (Rev. Sister). Television and movie credits include Homicide: Life on the Streets, Detention, and The Corner. A character in David Simon’s book “The Corner,” was based upon the role she played at Francis M. Wood during the time she was assistant principal at the school. Rose served in the Baltimore City Public School System for 30 years, retiring in 2001 as principal of Frederick Douglass High School. She came out of retirement from 2005-2007 to develop the Institute of Business and Entrepreneurship at Walbrook High School. Rose is a member of the Morning Star Baptist Church of Christ on 1000 W. Fayette Street, where the Rev. Dr. Samuel Ray is Pastor.
Dravon James
“Sister Tracey Dawson”
Dravon James has an extensive list of television, film and theatre credits. Television credits include a recurring role on HBO’s The Wire (Grace), and Vixen’s (Tonya), while film credits include Black List and We Made It. Theatrical credits include The Teachers’ Lounge (Alexis Brown), A Form of Godliness, Curious Savage (Florence Williams), The Vote (Brenda Taylor), Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom (Dussie Mae), Shakin’ The Mess Outta Misery (Dee-Dee) and Ms. Rosa) and Twelve Angry Jurors (Juror #2). Dravon has also appeared on CNN’s Burden of Proof, and enjoys exercising, biking, and cooking.
Monte Lemon
“Brother John Hall”
Monte Lemon is making his triumphant return to the stage, and is quite familiar with Coppin State University’s James Weldon Johnson Auditorium. His last performances on the James Weldon Johnson stage came by way of the Eubie Blake's Summer Theater Program. These performances include West Side Story (Lt. Shrank) and Guys and Dolls (Rev. Arvide). Monte who is also an aspiring playwright, has also written and performed various plays and skits through the Drama Ministry of James Tabernacle A.H.C. where he attends. When he isn't performing or writing, Monte works at M&T Bank Stadium.
Rev. Johnnetta R. Lomax
“Sister Jeremiah Jackson”
Rev. Johnnetta R. Lomax, is an accomplished actress, singer, and storyteller. She was a member of the group “Love, Peace, and Understanding”, who performed at New York’s famed “Apollo Theatre” in New York, created a demo, and auditioned with major recording studios. Known as “Mama Johnnetta”, she has performed as an African dancer (The Dance Menagerie), and is a performance poet (New Breezes). She has also been on the bill with Dick Gregory, and has performed in dinner theaters. Other credits include radio and television commercial appearances. She has performed at the Baltimore Museum of Art, Walters Art Gallery, AFRAM, Artscape, and churches throughout the Baltimore Metropolitan area. Johnnetta says she holds the distinction of being the first African American to graduate from Villa Julie College. Professionally, she works in the field of legal and executive secretarial support. Johnnetta is a member of Patterson Asbury A.M.E. Zion Church on Division Street, where she serves as a Deacon. Johnnetta says, “God said it, I believe it shall be done! Alleluia!”
Leora Turner
“Tambourine Shaker and Choir Member”
Leora Turner loves to uplift the Word of God through Praise and Worship. At a very young age, Leora danced at New York’s famed Apollo Theatre. Later in life, she became a Praise Dance instructor. Leora ministered in the stage play, 747 Flight to Glory written by Verlene Rogers at Greater New Hope Church. Other theatrical credits include a starring role in the stage play Sin City, and Lord I’m Coming Home, which played at the Morris Mechanic Theatre. Leora also sings on the Praise Community Choir under the direction of Juan Santiago. She is married to Steve Turner who is also in this production. Leora says she loves praising the Lord with all of her heart. She is a member of Christ Temple Christian Fellowship Church on Maryland Avenue where the Rev. Dwain White serves as Pastor.
Urssula Waters
“Choir Member”
Urssula Waters is an up and coming actress who can bring comedy and spice to any of life’s situations. Urssula has worked alongside “Shamrock” (Richard Burton) and “Black” (Norman Jackson) from the hit HBO series, The Wire. She has also worked with recording artist Paula Campbell, actor/comedian Howard “G”, actress/comedian Ms. Maybelle, and recording artist/actress Tanya Blount (“Sister Act 2”). Urssula’s latest role was in the stage play Tears in My Eyes performed at the Lyric Theatre as mother “Denise Watts.” Urssula is a member of Maximum Life Christian Church (MLCC) where Sherry Grant is the Pastor. Urssula serves on the Usher board, Praise and Worship Team and heads the Mime ministry.
Deborah A. Williams
“Sister Essie Mae Brown”
Deborah A. Williams has a love for the performing arts – acting, dancing and singing. She has acted extensively in college productions, including a major role in “The Gospelers” which was performed at the University of Pennsylvania. She also performed the leading role in the church comedy, “After the Church Supper. In April 2008, Deborah danced as a member of the Community Dance Project in a performance that was held at the Baltimore Museum of Art. She has also performed in Spring and Winter concerts sponsored by the Experimental Movement Concepts Dance Studio, and was featured in an article about adult dancers in “Baltimore’s Child” magazine. Deborah has been a member of many choral groups including various church and college choirs, the Social Security Administration Chorus, and the Waverly Community Choir. Professionally, Deborah is a Branch Chief in the Office of Systems at the Social Security Administration. Deborah is a member of Pennsylvania Avenue A.M.E. Zion Church. Deborah would like to thank her family for their support, and she thanks God for all His many blessings.
Hollis A. Woodard
“Choir Member”
Hollis A. Woodard served our country for over 20 years. The North Carolina native recently retired from the United States Navy and has made Maryland her home. She performed in two productions with the North Johnston “Playmasters” and two productions with Shaw University’s “Shaw Players” in Raleigh, NC. She enjoys devoting her time for various community services, which include serving as a Red Cross & American Heart CPR/HIV Aides Awareness Instructor, mentoring youth, and working with “Operation Share” and “Toys for Tots”. Hollis attends New Life Fellowship Worship Center on Old Court Road, where the Revs. Edward and Helen Ferguson serve as the Pastors. Hollis says she loves to praise God at New Life, where she serves on the Praise and Worship Team, sings on the choir, and assists with administrative functions.
Katrina Prieur

Katrina Prieur was active in several churches in Southern California both as a pianist and vocalist before relocating to Maryland. She attends Miracle Temple Seventh-Day Adventist church in Baltimore, and most recently performed at Beacon Light Seventh-Day Adventist Church in upstate New York for a revival hosting As a former gymnast and track star, she has also done mild stunt and body double work for WNBA commercials, print modeling, and performed at numerous NBA and major league soccer games as a former member of the metropolitan DC-based acro-sport team, Acro-Airs.

Asha Battle

Asha Battle is a fourth-grader at Church Lane Elementary School. The nine-year-old attends New Life Fellowship Worship Center. Asha, who is represented by the casting agency Linda Townsend Management, recently appeared in a commercial for Washington Gas. Asha has appeared in productions at Church Lane Elementary School and loves to draw, color, and watch movies.
Briana Jelese' Hazel
“The Youth Choir”
Briana Jelese' Hazel loves singing and is currently a member of the youth choir and dance ministry at Patterson Asbury AME Zion Church. The twelve-year-old is in the 7th grade and attends Deer Park Middle Magnet School located in Baltimore County. She is in the dance magnet program, which she enjoys very much.
Trés McMichael
“Lead Singer/The Youth Choir”
Trés McMichael has performed locally with the Arena Players, Liberty Showcase Theatre, Kingdom Bound Productions, and most recently with the Young Actors Theatre as Charlie Brown in SNOOPY! The 11-year-old is an Honor Roll Student at Sudbrook Magnet Middle School and is excited about attending new classes as a member of the Performing Arts Magnet. As a member of Praise The Lord Ministries, Trés eagerly gets involved in activities, including the Youth Choir and plays. Trés is a true performer at heart who enjoys acting, modeling, singing, playing the piano and saxophone. He has goals of becoming a Neurosurgeon and active community leader.

Tyrell Nelson is making his theatrical debut in DisChord In The Choir. Tyrell who likes to play football, attends Old Court Middle School. The youngest of three children, Tyrell attends New Life Fellowship Worship Center, where he ushers, sings, and plays the drums.

Robert Andrews
“Organist”
Robert Andrews Jr. is a gifted musician who can play a variety of instruments including the organ, piano, and drums. Robert, who also sings, plays at churches throughout the Baltimore Metropolitan and Washington, DC areas. Robert is employed with the Baltimore County School System as an Intervention Counselor and Teacher’s Assistant. He also works at a before and after school daycare program. Robert’s mother Diane and younger brother Timothy are also in this production. He enjoys serving as a role model to youth at work, in the community, and in the church. He currently attends Catonsville Community College and Loyola College.
Timothy Andrews

Timothy Andrews is a young, gifted musician who is currently studying at the Kinsler Academy of Music, Inc. He is senior at New Town High School, and a member of the Nful Motion Marching Band of Baltimore County. Future plans include attending Essex Community College and matriculating to Morgan State University to major in Music. Timothy’s mother Diane and brother Robert are also in this production. Timothy attends New Hope Baptist Church on Fremont Avenue where the Rev. Dr. James Fuller serves as Pastor. Timothy is a drummer, organist, pianist, and guitarist at the church.

Cassie Hatten
“Sister Dartha Dots”
Cassie Hatten made her début stage performance at the Lyric Theatre in David’s Rock as “Bathsheba Servant”. Other theatrical performances include FOR BETTER OR WOR$E, and Widows in the Hood. As a child, she also performed in plays. She is a fashion model for Flair Modeling Agency and says she loves to strut fashions. Cassie currently is pursuing a degree at the College of Notre Dame in Business Management/Marketing. In her spare time, she enjoys shopping and reading. She also loves spending quality time with her two sons and friends. Cassie attends New Life Fellowship Worship Center on Old Court Road, where the Revs. Edward and Helen Ferguson serve as the Pastors. She serves as a Praise and Worship Leader, is a member of the church’s choir, and is an encourager to members of the church’s congregation. Above all, Cassie loves to pray for a closer walk with God and says, “No matter what turbulence come in life, determination will help you to survive.”
Joe Jones
“Mario”
Joe Jones is not only an anointed and gifted musician and vocalist, but God has also blessed him to be a songwriter, playwright, and stage director. Joe has written and produced five plays thus far -- Logos, Triune, Ecclesia, Epistle and Examplez. All of the characters, songs and scenarios depicted in each play parallel some of the things that actually occur in the lives of believers and non-believers. Comedic spins are added to each drama to provide entertainment, but Joe’s ultimate goal is to win souls for God’s kingdom and to help better lives. He is also in the process of building his own recently established production company, Joezmanystreamz. He also renders music in the Federal government workplace, which affords him the opportunity to share his talents whether it's through singing the "National Anthem" or songs of the gospel of Jesus Christ. He serves as Musician/Director of the Greater Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church Male Chorus.
Caleb Neal Smith

Caleb Neal Smith is an Honors Student at Lansdowne Senior High School. Caleb is the Minister of Music for New Destiny Church of Deliverance in Baltimore where his mother, the Rev. Diane Moore serves as Pastor. The 13-year-old loves playing the drums and keyboard. He also enjoys football at Lansdowne and is in the school's band. Caleb's greatest desire is to become an anointed musician for the House of God.
Steven Turner
“Dr. William Nelson Madison & Dr. T.M. Walker”
Steve Turner has been on the Gospel Music scene for many years. He has served as the organist for “The Lift Every Voice & Sing” television program on WMAR TV 2, and Praise Community Choir’s presentation of Lord! I'm Coming Home! He has traveled with the recording group “Bells of Joy” and has been on stage with “The Mighty Clouds of Joy”, “Slim & the Supreme Angels” & “Doc McKenzie & the Gospel Hi-Lites”. He is the CEO of Praise Unlimited Ministries, and Executive Producer and host of “The Artist-In-Unity Radio Outreach” program and “The Praise Radio Outreach Hour!” His musical roots stem from serving on his Mother's choir, “The Radio Chorus of the 1st Apostolic Faith Church”, which Steve says is recognized as the first Gospel Choir to minister on a weekly radio broadcast in Maryland. He has also written musical columns for Hallelujah Magazine and The Urban Star. Steve is a member of Christ Temple Christian Fellowship Church on Maryland Avenue where the Rev. Dwain White serves as Pastor.

Pamela Berry
"Sister Emma Ray Tybo"
Pamela Berry has been away from the theatre scene for decades but has always loved the arts, particularly, Theatre. The Baltimore native’s most noted performance was in a 1970’s Coppin State stage play directed by Dr. Judith Willner, Five on the Black-Hand Side portraying the role of “Gail”. Her most recent performance was with the Dance Baltimore Community Dance Workshop in April 2008, dancing at The Baltimore Museum of Art during their spring concert.
Kevin Brown
“Larcell”
Kevin Brown is an award-winning journalist. Also known as “Downtown Kevin Brown”, Kevin says he has been a fan of playwright Ursula V. Battle for many years and is grateful for the opportunity to be a part of her success with this exciting new play. Before opening an arts cafe gallery last year, he worked in the communications field for nearly 20 years. Kevin says “to God be the glory for gathering this superb cast to bring forth such a powerful message.”
Denise Brown
“Sister Wane”
Denise Brown enjoys plays and is making her theatrical debut in a major production in DisChord In The Choir. As a youngster, she participated in school plays. Denise enjoys visiting churches, particularly Calvary Baptist Church. She has five children and 26 grandchildren with two on the way. The Baltimore native loves children, animals, and spending time with seniors.
Charles Carter
“Mr. Johnny Jacobs”
Charles Carter lives for the theatrical experience. Charles has been featured in many productions, which include the televised reality show Redeemed (Thad). Stage credits include The Epistle (Giggy), and The Triune (Charles). He was featured in a production of For Black Boys Who Have Considered Homicide When The Streets Were Too Much (Brother 34) at Morgan State University. In addition to his acting career, Charles has a mentoring program for prison inmates and strongly believes that life is a major stage performance with every individual knowing his or her personal role. An entrepreneur, Charles is a graduate student at Morgan State University. He attends River of Life Christian Center where the Apostle Bennett Donnell and Prophetess Jean Donnell serve as Pastors.
Karen L. Chase
“Congregant”
Karen L. Chase has performed with The Joe Jones Ministries in their series of plays about the church Ecclesia (Choir Member), Epistle (Marah) and Examplez (Marah). Karen attends the River of Life Christian Center where Apostle Bennett Donnell and Prophetess Jean Donnell serve as Pastors. She and her husband Kim, who is also in this production, are leaders for the Mature Singles Fellowship Group at River of Life. Kim also serves on the church’s Drama Ministry. She is also a Covenant Leader for The Women's Institute and is a nursery teacher, working with 3-6 year olds. She and her husband have one daughter, Morgan.
Cathy Copeland
“Sister Rowley”
Cathy Copeland is making her stage debut in DisChord In The Choir. Cathy who is employed at Baltimore City Community College (BCCC) as a mail clerk, plans to study Theatre at BCCC. Cathy loves music, plays, singing and bowling. She has four children and four grandchildren. Cathy enjoys working with people, particularly children. Cathy attends Empowerment Temple where the Rev. Jamaal Harrison-Bryant serves as Pastor.
Verna Lee Day
“Mother Pearl Carter”
Verna Lee Day is a legendary and accomplished actress in the theatre, film, and television scenes. Her theatrical experiences spans more than 54 years, and she is a familiar face at the Arena Players, Center Stage, and the Bolton Hill Theatre. Her many theatrical credits include First Breeze of Summer, Born Yesterday, Amen Corner, and Opal’s Husband. Verna’s film credits include The Anatomy of a Grievance, The Welfare Mother, and Runaway Bride. Television credits include Homicide: Life On the Streets, The Wire, and numerous commercials. Movie credits include Hairspray, Bedroom Window, Clara’s Heart, Meteor Man, and In My Father’s House. The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native has also done training films for the Social Security Administration and the Peace Corps.
Her many awards and accomplishments include being the 1st Place Winner of the Toastmistress World International Speaking Contest held in Canada, being selected as Mrs. Senior America – Maryland – 2004 and 2005; being named “Woman of the Year” by The American Business Women – Freedom Chapter and Bethel A.M.E. Church, and receiving the “Unsung Hero Woman of Dignity Award” from WCAO Heaven 600. Her volunteer activities include reading for blind students and the visually impaired, which she has done for 15 years.
In 1986, she retired from the Social Security Administration after working there for 40 years. Recently, Verna was featured as one of 16 women who changed theatre in Baltimore in the book Lives of Art written by Maraven Loeschke. In 2007, Verna was selected by the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women Club to receive its highest award – “The National Sojourner Truth Meritorious Award”. She is a member of Douglass Memorial Community Church on Lafayette and Madison Avenues where Sheridan Todd Yeary, Sr. serves as Pastor.
Evangelist Gwendolyn Fancher

Evangelist Gwendolyn Fancher is an active teacher and preacher in the Baltimore area. Evangelist Fancher is a familiar face in Ursula V. Battle’s productions, with theatrical credits including a leading role as “Sister Granny Grip” in the biblically-based stage play romantic comedy, FOR BETTER OR WOR$E, which was performed at Martin’s West in 2007, and Artscape 2007. Other credits include portraying the role “Geraldine” in the biblically-based stage play comedy Widows In The Hood. Evangelist Fancher retired from the Social Security Administration after 30 years of service, and is the director of “We Are Family Daycare.” She is a member of the New Life Fellowship Worship Center, where the Revs. Edward and Helen Ferguson serve as Pastors. She serves the church in many capacities, which includes working with the Youth Ministry, the New Life Summer Camp, and planning and coordinating programs and events.

Jeannia Forrest loves the Performing Arts, and says has always enjoyed Theatre and Film. She has performed in many musicals, including the title role of “Dolly” in Hello Dolly. Her other musical credits include: Finnegan’s Rainbow, How to Succeed in Business, and Without Really Trying. She also has performed in college short films and many church dramatizations. The former second grade teacher is currently interested in providing voiceover sound to any area of production, including reading and recording children’s books on tape. She attends Christian Life Church on Liberty Road in Woodmoor where the Rev. Hugh Bair is Pastor.
Rosetta Fisher

Rosetta Fisher has been performing since the age of four. Television credits include HBO’s The Wire, while theatrical credits include None but the Righteous, A Love That Lasts, They That Wait, It Don’t Have to Be That Way and Trouble Won’t Last Always. She has also performed in The Whiz and Dream Girls which was performed at Baltimore City Community College (BCCC). Rosetta enjoys helping people and being on stage. Rosetta, who describes herself as “a woman who loves to serve God” is a preschool teacher, dance teacher, and singer. Rosetta says she loves children, and enjoys “reaching out for hearts to advance through growth and development.” She is a member of Church of the Redeemed of the Lord, where she is a member of the Drama Ministry.

Pamela Leak-Loney has appeared in movies, television, radio and theatrical productions. Movie credits include The Basement Stalker and Something The Lord Made. Television credits include HBO’s The Wire, while theatrical credits include The Teachers’ Lounge. Pamela is a host on the WB television show “Keeping It Real” and is a co-host on WOLB’s “The Larry Young Morning Show”. She is also a full-figured model with Travis Winkey Modeling Studios and is the familiar face seen on the Katz Insurance commercials and soon, the Mass Transit Administration (MTA).
The Baltimore native has been the opening act for The Softones, The Marvelettes, The Persians, The Temptations, The Whispers, Shirley Caesar, Kirk Franklin, Dottie Peoples, Gerald Levert, and comedians Rickey Smiley and Semore. She has performed her signature comedic character “Ms. Maybelle” at Burke’s Comedy Factory, The Improv, Five Seasons, BET Comedy Showcase and Jokes On Us. Pamela is a member of the Maximum Life Christian Church, where she serves on the Outreach Ministry.

Calvin McMichael, Jr. has earned Associates, Bachelors, and Masters Degrees in Computer Information Systems. Calvin is happily married to his wife of 22 years, Pamela, and is the proud father of three children, Tiffany, Antonio, and Trés. Trés is also in this production. He enjoys coaching for the Old Court Basketball program, mentoring, reading, and being supportive of his family. Calvin is a member of Praise The Lord Ministries, where Michael A. Reynolds serves as Pastor. He enjoys his duties as a Deacon, and participating in the Drama Ministry.

Deborah J. Richardson is a native of Baltimore who played a leading role as “Sister Two-Face” in the spiritually-based comedy stage play comedy, FOR BETTER OR WOR$E, which was performed at Martin’s West in 2007, and Artscape 2007. She is the Deputy Director of the Baltimore County Department of Corrections. Deborah attends New Life Fellowship Worship Center where the Revs. Edward and Helen Ferguson serve as the Pastors. She serves as a Deaconess and is a Sunday School and Children’s Church teacher. But most rewardingly, Deborah says she “is a child of God who finds fulfillment in being a wife, mother and grandmother.”

Stacey Royal is a new face in the city’s theatrical circles. She is currently working towards a Masters degree at Strayer University. Stacey is currently employed as a Substitute Teacher/Youth Life Educator, for a non-profit organizational school located in Baltimore City. A native of Richmond, Virginia, Stacey is the proud mother of two children. Stacey believes that the “Children are the future and we have to teach them so they can lead the way.” She is a member of James Tabernacle A.H.C. where the Rev. Steven Burgess serves as Pastor.

Brian Stephenson loves the arts. He is a familiar face with “Write On Productions” playing a starring role in the spiritually-based comedy stage play FOR BETTER OR WOR$E (Clayton). In addition to his acting ability, Brian is also an entrepreneur, specializing in installation of ceramic tile, marble and home improvement. He also is a sound technician and is always willing to lend a helping hand whenever needed. Brian is an active member of New Life Fellowship Worship Center, where he serves as a Deacon.
Leonard Edward Stepney, Jr.

Leonard E. Stepney, Jr. has always had a sense of humor and playfulness. Leonard is best known for his portrayal of the ever-saucy, “Pea Chez” and has been in several stage plays written by playwright Joe Jones. Leonard’s credits include Epistle, Triune, and most recently, the critically acclaimed, Examplez. Leonard is currently filming a production of a film scheduled for release in Spring ’09. Leonard discovered his ‘calling’ when he was asked to join the Male Chorus at the Greater Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church (GGMBC), where he attends. He has worked for the Mass Transit Administration for over 19 years, and has three children Jania, Brendon and Derriq. He is a member of several choirs at GGMBC, and also has coached Little League Football, basketball and baseball. The native Baltimorean serves as President and CEO of “A Step Above All Limousines”. Leonard is an avid music lover, with Gospel and Neo Soul being his ‘sounds’ of choice.

Sylvia M. Teal sings with the Pre-Convention Choir of the United Baptist Missionary Convention. Sylvia is a member of the Greater Baltimore Ministers Wives and Ministers’ Widows and The Deacon’s Conference of Baltimore & Vicinity Women’s Auxiliary. For 20 years, she sang with The All Saints Choir, traveling locally and abroad to places that included Italy, England, and Switzerland. The All Saints Choir also sang with the Coppin Choir under the direction of William “Bill Cummings.” Sylvia is a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Edgemere, Maryland where Bishop Heber Brown, Jr. serves as Pastor. She is a former First Lady at Shiloh where her husband Pastor Thomas B. Teal served as Pastor. Sylvia who says she “thanks Sister Ursula for the opportunity, it has really been fun,” serves as a Deaconess at Shiloh, sings on the choir, and is the church’s Wedding Coordinator.

She is set to begin a program to receive an advanced degree in pharmacy and says she loves the Lord. Annette S. Gilkesson is making her stage debut in DisChord In The Choir. Professionally, she has been employed by the Baltimore City Public School System for the past 33 years as a teacher and school counselor. Her undergraduate work was done at Morgan State University and her graduate work was done at Coppin State University and Johns Hopkins University where she received her Master’s Degree. She is a charter member of the Baltimore TWINKS, a national social and civic organization. Currently, she is the President of Greater Baltimore Chapter of Gamma Sigma Sigma National Service Sorority. Annette has been a member of Huber Memorial Church for eleven years where she serves as an usher and church school teacher.

Jessica Harris is making her debut in a major production, but is no stranger to acting. In high school, she participated in numerous plays including Faces of the Past, and Cinderella's Crunchy Christmas Cake, which was performed for students at New Town Elementary School. Currently, Jessica is in the Honors Program at the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) working towards an A.A. Degree, with plans to matriculate to Howard University. Jessica attends Abundant Life Kingdom Ministries International, under the leadership of Apostle Jessie M. Knox and Pastor Calvin Knox, and participates in the church’s Drama Department.

Valerie Hawkins is a familiar face on the educational scene. Valerie has served as an educator and mentor for the Baltimore City Public School System for 29 years. During her teaching career, she worked with students in the area of modern dance after school. Her role as a church usher in DisChord In The Choir is her debut theatrical performance. A lover of singing, dancing, and acting, Valerie decided to pursue her passion for the arts through DisChord In The Choir. In addition to her interest in the performing arts, Valerie loves to read, exercise, and listen to jazz music.

Stephanie P. Lemon-Pettiford is making her stage debut in DisChord In The Choir. Stephanie has performed in church plays as a member of the Drama Ministry of James Tabernacle A.H.C. Professionally, she is employed in the hotel industry as a Staff Accountant. Stephanie’s other creative talent include baking and cake decorating As a member of James Tabernacle, she serves on the Usher’s Ministry and also sings on the choir.

Aaron’s minor in college was Classical Voice. Aaron is currently employed as a Tech Support Consultant at Arbitron, Inc. in Columbia, MD. In the future, Aaron is looking forward to continuing to do his best to spread the good Word of God through his talents and abilities. Vernice Y. Kee-Jordan is delighted to be performing alongside such a talented group of performers as she makes her stage debut in DisChord In The Choir. Vernice was excited when asked by Ursula V. Battle, to audition for the play, and graciously accepted the character of “Sister Margaret Braxton” after being cast for the character. Vernice enjoys vintage, old-fashioned stories, and uses a combination of speech, gestures, mime, puppets, music and dance to perform them for children. Vernice is the owner/operator of a licensed, accredited, and credentialed family childcare service. Vernice attends Greater Harvest Baptist Church on Saratoga Street where the Rev. Errol D. Gilliard, Sr. serves as Pastor.

Shirley Owens many stage credits include Black Girl, Don’t Tell A Soul, and Would You Be A Witness. Shirley’s film credits include Head of State. The Baltimore native’s aspirations include doing commercials, and ultimately moving on to Broadway and Tinsel Town. Shirley is a member of the Faith Baptist Church where the Dr. Greggory R. Carlton Douglass is the CEO and owner of Carlton C. Douglass Funeral Service P.A. He is Past President of the National and Maryland Funeral Directors and Morticians Association, and is the youngest African American to ever hold the post. Carlton is a member of the Masonic Lodge and attended the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES). He received his mortuary science degree from the American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Services.

The Rev. Edward L. Ferguson is the Pastor of New Life Fellowship Worship Center on Old Court Road in Pikesville. In 1987, Pastor Ferguson along with his wife Rev. Helen Ferguson, began taking their ministry behind prison walls, ministering to all who would listen. The Fergusons continued to provide support to those in need by providing shelter and other resources to several inmates upon their release. In 1996, the Fergusons founded New Life Fellowship Worship Center. In July, the church celebrated its 12th Anniversary. New Life takes great pride in being a sanctuary for souls to be saved, and a resource for the community. Rev. Ferguson and his wife Helen, own and operate a transportation company, E&H Charter, along with other businesses.

Comedian Howard “G” is a popular comedic fixture on the local and national comedy scenes. He has appeared on “Showtime At The Apollo” on two occasions, and Russell Simmons’ “Def Comedy Jam” hosted by Steve Harvey”. From 2000 to 2003, he appeared on BET’s “Comicview”. Howard has appeared in several local and national commercials which include the “Kiss My Bumper” car insurance commercial and a Time Life music commercial advertising its “Slow Jams” CD. Television credits include HBO’s “The Wire” (desk sergeant). In 2002, Howard traveled oversees to Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, and Pakistan to perform for U.S. troops. He has opened up for several famous performers which include Martin Lawrence, Jamie Foxx, Kevin Pollock, Dave Chappell, Tommy Davidson, Yolanda Adams, The Isley Brothers, The Temptations, and Patti Labelle. Howard, whose signature character is “Grandma G”, also penned the comedy stage play As Cherry Hill Turns.

Doresa Harvey currently reigns as the #1 midday Gospel personality on WCAO Heaven 600 - the #1 rated Gospel contemporary station in the country. The “Midday Gospel Diva” can be heard on the airwaves Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Doresa came to WCAO in 1991 as an intern and was hired as a board technician while still completing her studies in radio broadcasting. In November of 1991, “Heaven 600” was officially launched and Doresa was the first female board technician hired. After two years of “board teching,” Doresa was promoted and worked as Public Service Assistant for a year. Doresa is a Deaconess at the Greater Hope Church of God In Christ.
Bishop Alonzo Jones

Bishop Alonzo Jones is the founder of Family Life Ministries on Reisterstown Road. At an early age, Bishop Jones accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior. He completed his primary education at Frederick Douglass School, and is graduate of the Saturday Washington College at Howard University. Bishop Jones served as the Minister of Music for many years at various churches and institutions including Greater Hope C.O.G.I.C. pastored by his father; Bethel A.M.E.; March Funeral Home; and New Shiloh Baptist. Bishop Jones is a member of The Jones Brothers and recently released his debut solo project Concerned About U. The CD features a variety a musical styles including classical, contemporary and down home gospels, and is receiving positive reviews throughout the Gospel Music Community. In recent years Bishops Jones’ missionary efforts have impacted communities locally and worldwide. He is the head of Missions and Outreach for The Full Gospel Fellowship of Maryland and annually leads a team of missionaries to Africa to build-up churches and help strengthen their communities. In 2006, Bishop Jones was appointed board member of (Aarama) African Americans Reaching Africans, which currently oversees 200 pastors and congregations in Kenya. Through his preaching, teaching and obedience to the instructions of God, Bishop Jones is serving the needs of families and individuals naturally and spiritually. He and his wife have one daughter, Jasmin Kordey Jones. The “Life Fellowship International Singers” are accompanying Bishop Jones in this production.

The 1 Accord Gospel Quartet consists of four men who heard God’s call and humbled themselves to sing and dance in praise to His Holy name. Keith Matthews, Berman Bennett, Sylvester Redditt and Quinton Young came together in 2007 and thus, The “1 Accord Gospel Quartet” was formed. Their many performances include singing at the Fullwood Foundation’s Annual Breakfast, for the Maryland Department of Corrections Women’s Ministry, and at the annual conference held by the A.M.E. Church. Upcoming performances include singing at the H2O Club in Washington, DC and Silver Shadows. The powerful foursome recently released a new Gospel CD, “Meeting 1 Accord”. Featured songs include I Shall Not Forget, Beneath The Clay, Do Not Pass Me By, Yes You Are My God, and I Love To Praise The Lord.

Pastor Diane Moore is the Pastor and Founder of the New Destiny Church of Deliverance in Baltimore, Maryland, a covenant ministry under Bishop Joan B. Sanders, Presiding Prelate. Her Christian rearing is from the Greater Maryland area churches of God and Christ. She is the daughter of Deacon and Mother Walker. In 2005, she began her Pastoral destiny. For 19 years, Pastor Moore has trained cosmetologists. Pastor Moore teaches at the Renaissance Institute in Hunt Valley, Maryland.

They include: The Congressional Black Caucus Spouses’ Annual Fashion Show; The Martin Luther King, Jr. Annual fashion fundraiser held in Atlanta, Georgia; the French Caribbean’s “Miss Model” International which hosts more than 70 countries and “In Person: The International Fashion Event”. Travis has taken his fashion extravaganzas all over the world including Paris, Rome, and North Africa. The Washington Post once identified Travis Winkey as the largest glitziest, producer of fashion shows in America. Muhammad Ali dubbed Travis the “Prince of Fashion”. Travis has used his expertise as a fashion consultant to help aspiring fashion designers and manufacturers place their clothing in some of the most prestigious boutiques and department stores in America.
